hi, if you're still reading this by now i saw a couple of decent bands last night at Mono@The Empire They were Fans of Kate, who are local, and Sweetheart, who came up from 'norf lundun'. Both were pretty good. I'll be writing a review which you'll be able to read online at www.rainbowculture.com

Jumpsuit Collective are really quirky and great fun to go see. A bit Badly Drawn Boy/Baby Bird/Aidan Smith... odd but fun.
No bassist. No drummer. No lead guitar. 2 Rhythm guitarists. 2 singers. Keyboard/slide whistle and marracas/guiro/kazoo.
Defintely worth checking out.

I think www.mk-music.net is more appropriate ... and you get to hear the bands as well!

"more appropriate" is your opinion and not everyone in the whole worlds opinion

To add to the posts: mk-music.net is better at producing a band profile with pictures and things, nice layout plus reviews. musicmk.org.uk is a great value-for-money site for anyone wanting to know what's going on in Milton Keynes, Bucks, Beds & Herts. Plenty of bands (including myself) have got onto new gigs from there, and personally if I'm feeling at a loose end on a particular night, the site is the first place I go to because there are probably 150 gigs a week listed there. So, in summary, want profiles & reviews, go to mk-music.net. want to know what's on on a particular night, go to musicmk.org.uk. Just my opinion having looked at both. Dan Plews

Thank you for the support Dan, I did not bother to reply to the other posts for fear of entering into a childish, catty game. I only came and took a look because it was pointed out that the views of "guest" might be thought of as me. As I said last night, any resource that helps to keep live music in the public domain is a good thing. Neils site www.musicmk.org.uk only came about all those years ago as a resource for mucisians run by mucisians, he is however considering calling a halt to the whole thing, if people think he is looking to in any way compeate with mkmusic.net he feels that the two sites do their own thing for individuals and bands. musicmk.org.uk is a free to use by all site, run by Neil part time between his own gigs and a full time job, it has no pop ups or adverts because he is simpy looking to offer a resource to live music. musicmk.org.uk is now and always has been a music resource site, use it if you think it helps, you the music loving public/music makers or don't use it simple. Once again Dan thank you for your support, you like man of the other music lovers of herts beds and bucks help to make the site the success that it has become over the last 10 years. Carole.
